************************************************************************ IERS Message No. 417 December 16, 2020 ************************************************************************ Questionnaire on time metrology, including leap seconds in UTC Dear Colleagues, The Consultative Committee for Time and Frequency (CCTF) has prepared a questionnaire concerning many important issues of time metrology, in particular the time difference between UTC and UT1, and is thus of primary importance for IERS. To make sure that the needs and wishes of astro-geodetic community are integrated into the general debate, you are strongly invited to respond to this questionnaire. The four hot topics under debate are: 1. Updating the Roadmap for the redefinition of the second 2. Leap seconds in UTC - building a consensus for a continuous timescale 3. Promoting the mutual benefit of UTC and GNSS 4.
