************************************************************************ IERS Message No. 215 November 13, 2012 ************************************************************************ IERS Working Group on Site Coordinate Time Series Format In April 2012, following the discussion at the Unified Analysis Workshop (UAW) 2011 in Zurich, the IERS Directing Board decided to establish a Working Group on Site Coordinate Time Series Format. The aim of the working group is to define a common exchange format for station coordinate time series of the geodetic techniques (DORIS, GNSS, SLR, VLBI...) and ensure that the format contains the necessary information (data and meta-data) to be easily used or converted for the web tools of the IAG Services (GGOS, IERS, IDS, IGS, ILRS, IVS). The format must allow the comparisons of time series between GNSS, SLR, VLBI and DORIS, but also with other techniques such as tide gauges records. Some of the issues that should also be addressed are, e.g., reference system, time unit, content description... In order to have the best possible interaction with the groups working with station coordinate time series, the working group is composed by representatives of groups providing time series (IAG services and groups providing web services) and people from the users community. The chair of the WG is Laurent Soudarin (Director of IDS Central Bureau). The WG is currently beginning its work. A version of the format will be proposed at the IERS DB meeting in Vienna next year.
