************************************************************************ IERS Message No. 200 December 13, 2011 ************************************************************************ International M.Sc. program ESPACE at the TUM, Germany The international Master's program ESPACE (Earth Oriented Space Science and Technology) at the Technical University of Munich (TUM), Germany, is now accepting applications! ESPACE is an engineering program at the forefront of space science, linking know-how in satellite technology with key satellite applications in the fields of Earth system research, remote sensing and navigation. The program is organized at the TUM, one of the most prestigous universities in Germany, located in the beautiful city of Munich. It makes use of a unique high concentration of expertice related to space science and space technology in the area of Munich. Lecturers from three universities (TUM, LMU, UniBW), space agencies (DLR, ESA) and various research institutes are academically involved in the program. Graduates of the 2-years Master's program are awarded the degree Master of Science (M.Sc.). The program is conducted entirely in English. In addition to the regular 2-years program, students also have the opportunity to follow a 3-year double degree program with Wuhan University in the People's Republic of China. Target group: The ESAPCE program addresses students from engineering and science programs such as mechanical, electrical, communication, environmental, or geodetic engineering, as well as geophysics, physics or mathematics. A solid background in mathematics and physics is necessary and, of course, an interest in satellites and Earth-related topics. Applications are now being accepted for the academic year 2012/2013, which begins in October 2012. Deadlines for applications are March 15, 2012 (for non-EU citizens) and May 31, 2012 (for EU citizens).
