The scientific programme is composed of the following five sessions: - Session 1: Recent and future developments in the realization of the ICRS, including a discussion on the tasks that were previously part of the ICRS Working Group of the IAU, - Session 2: Models for Earth's rotation: from Poincare to IAU 2000, including the "kickoff" meeting for the Project "Descartes-Nutation" and a discussion on the work of the IAU Working Group "Precession & the Ecliptic", - Session 3: Nomenclature in fundamental astronomy, including a discussion on the work of the NFA Working Group of the IAU, Session 4: Astronomical reference systems, Session 5: Future of UTC: Consequences in astronomy, including a discussion on the work of the IAU Working Group on the "Redefinition of Universal Time Coordinated (UTC)". The deadline for registration is 10 August 2004 and the deadline for sending the abstracts of the presentations included in the programme is 30 August.
