************************************************************************ IERS Message No. 513 November 20, 2024 ************************************************************************ EGU 2025: GGOS: Fostering collaboration in geodesy Dear colleagues, We would like to draw your attention to the EGU session G2.3 "GGOS: Fostering collaboration in geodesy to address challenges for science and society" to be held at the next EGU General Assembly in Vienna, Austria, and online, 27 April - 2 May 2025. This session will focus on the critical role of geodesy in supporting Earth observation, environmental monitoring, and sustainable development efforts worldwide. In particular, it will provide a framework to highlight challenges and achievements of international and multidisciplinary cooperation focused on the generation and sharing of standardized and consistent geodetic data and products, the identification of emerging scientific and societal needs that can be addressed by geodetic services and products, and the enhancement of the visibility of geodesy by improving the accessibility of geodetic observations, information, and products to the widest range of users.
