************************************************************************ IERS Message No. 483 July 28, 2023 ************************************************************************ Session on Earth's Deep Interior at AGU 2023 Dear Colleagues, As part of the 2023 Fall Meeting of the AGU that will be held in San Francisco, 11-15 December 2023, we would like to draw your attention to the session on: G005 - Earth's Deep Interior Seen by Gravity, Magnetic and Earth's Rotation Observations The description of the session is given below. We are looking forward to your contribution by submitting an abstract to our session. Please note the Abstract submission deadline: 2 August 2023 23:59 EDT/03:59 +1 UTC For more information about the 2023 Fall Meeting, please consult: https://www.agu.org/fall-meeting Best regards, Mioara Mandea (CNES-Paris, France) Anny Cazenave (CNES-Toulouse, France) Veronique Dehant (Royal Observatory of Belgium) Jeremy Rekier (Royal Observatory of Belgium) Hugo Lecomte (CNES-Strasbourg, France) G005 - Earth's Deep Interior Seen by Gravity, Magnetic and Earth's Rotation Observations Satellite and ground observations are used in order to understand the processes involved in the deep interior of the Earth and explain its evolution, in particular the dynamics of the Earth's iron-rich fluid outer core and processes at the core-mantle boundary. To go beyond the potential of individual satellite and ground observations it is also crucial to combine the information about the deep Earth's as deduced from the gravity field, the magnetic fields and of the rotation of the Earth, in synergy. This interdisciplinary observational approach, together with models of core and mantle processes, as well as with new coming observational techniques or satellites may provide a step change in our understanding of the dynamics of the deep Earth's interior. This session invites contributions illustrating the achievements for investigating all types of deep Earth's processes by synergies between different methods, ground and satellite data, and modeling approaches. ************************************************************************ IERS Messages are edited and distributed by the IERS Central Bureau.
