************************************************************************ IERS Message No. 481 July 25, 2023 ************************************************************************ Session on Earth Rotation at AGU 2023 As part of the 2023 Fall Meeting of the AGU that will be held in San Francisco, 11-15 December 2023, we would like to draw your attention to the session: G004: Climate and geophysical fluid signals in Earth rotation parameters - variability and prediction We encourage you to submit abstracts to this session. The deadline to submit abstracts is Wednesday, 2 August 2023 23:59 EDT/03:59 +1 GMT. The description of the session is given below. More information about the AGU Fall Meeting 2023 can be found on the following website: https://www.agu.org/fall-meeting. Kind regards, Jolanta Nastula (CBK PAN, Poland) Richard Gross (JPL, USA) Henryk Dobslaw (GFZ, Germany) Justyna Sliwinska (CBK PAN, Poland) G004 - Climate and geophysical fluid signals in Earth rotation parameters - variability and prediction This session is dedicated to contributions on accurate modelling and prediction of Earth rotation with special focus on geophysical and climate signals in Earth Orientation Parameters (EOP). We invite contributions that explore links between Earth's rotation and other quantities like geophysical fluids, climate signals, gravity field, and others. We also welcome works that exploit different types of data to explain the excitation of the Earth's rotation. We are also interested in studies on the relationship between EOP variability and variability in geophysical fluids due to climate variation or global climate change signals on time-scales from days to centuries. Finally, given the importance of EOP predictions to the operational determination of the Earth's orientation, we welcome the results of EOP prediction using modern techniques combined with high-accuracy observational data and models. We also encourage contributions on predicting other geodetic quantities like effective angular momenta or climate indices. ************************************************************************ IERS Messages are edited and distributed by the IERS Central Bureau.
