************************************************************************ IERS Message No. 349 February 07, 2018 ************************************************************************ Call for Participation in the IERS Conventions BACKGROUND The International Earth Rotation and Reference Systems Service (IERS) provides the publication, IERS Conventions, in both printed and electronic formats, defining the standard reference systems realized by IERS products and containing the conventional models, procedures, constants and standards used for this purpose. - The elements of the publication are based on the resolutions of international scientific unions. - The publication is maintained by an IERS Conventions Center with Co-chairs Christian Bizouard (Paris Observatory) and Nick Stamatakos (U. S. Naval Observatory). The IERS now intends to publish a revised version of this publication that will contain the most current information. DETAILS For this project, the IERS is seeking volunteer participants: - One Editor-in-Chief for each chapter, - One to three Chapter Experts for each chapter, - One Software Editor. The call for participation will close at the end of May 2018, and shortly after, candidates will be evaluated, selected, and notified.
